We have partnered up with international cultural organisation British Council to inspire emerging creatives in the Southern African region through “Creative Hustles”, a talk series established by the British Council. These talks continue our mission to nurture, inspire and celebrate Young African creatives through #ConversationsOnCreativity.
Creative Hustles are a platform for young creatives to engage with more established industry, creative and emerging professionals from different disciplines. Creative Hustles are typically (but are not limited to) informal panel discussions where creative professionals are invited to share their stories about their journey so far.
The audience is made up of young creatives in our target age group of 18-35 years old, with a specific focus on the 18-25 demographic. Creative Hustles will run across Southern Africa (Botswana, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Zambia, Zimbabwe) until the end of 2018.For the past few years Creative Nestlings has been well known as a creative leader for its talk series #ConversationsOnCreativity and has been a regular collaborator of the British Council #CreativeHustles event series and other projects.
The move to partner on a series in Southern Africa comes at a time where both organisations have seen a need to better understand the region’s creative community with a focus on a the emerging creative space.
The event series forms a catalyst for regional community building but also an understanding on challenges and opportunities faced by young African creatives.
