I am a South African visual artist working with paint on canvas to explore belonging, unity and spirituality. My practice is intuitive and deeply personal, rooted in lived experience and reflection.

My visual art journey began in 2019 during the quiet, introspective months of the Covid-19 pandemic. In a time of global isolation, I turned inward and began unpacking my experience of growing up mixed-race in South Africa. Often feeling suspended between two worlds — never fully embraced by either side of my heritage — this sense of in-betweenness became a central influence in my work.

Rather than approaching race through division, my paintings explore belonging through unity and spiritual connection. I focus on what exists beyond constructed boundaries: empathy, consciousness, and the deeper qualities that connect us as human beings. My work invites viewers to reflect on identity as a space for understanding, healing, and togetherness.

My visual language is defined by earthy tones, and delicate line work, symbolising both diverse identities and the universal essence we all share. Pushing culture forward through my practice matters to me because culture is shaped by the stories we tell and the values we reinforce. Through painting, I aim to create space for reflection, connection, and belonging — reminding us that culture evolves when we choose unity over division.
