Black womanhood has often been underrepresented or misrepresented in visual culture. Through my work I aim to contribute imagery that is intentional and rooted in lived experiences. By centering black women in my work, I am creating space for visibility and self-definition.
I am interested in how everyday moments and ordinary spaces can hold powerful narratives about identity, memory and resilience. I believe representation is not only about being seen, but about being seen accurately and with dignity.
Pushing culture forward, for me, means contributing to a visual archive that reflects the complexity and fullness of Black womanhood across generations, environments, and emotional states. It is about documenting presence, honouring personal histories, and creating images that resonate beyond the moment they are viewed. Through my work, I hope to play a role in shaping a cultural landscape where Black women can see themselves reflected in ways that feel true and affirming.
