Johannesburg-based visual artist and gallerist Mankebe Seakgoe works primarily in charcoal, creating unique text drawings and sculptures that question conventional ways of communicating and understanding. Her practice involves cursive motion writing where she facilitates word flow that borders on illegibility, making deliberate reference to Black thought and literature. Featured in exhibitions including "I hear you" (2023) at BKhz Gallery and ICTAF 2025, Mankebe's work is represented by BKhz Gallery where she also serves as gallerist. She drives culture forward by transforming Black intellectual traditions into visual language, creating archives that challenge how knowledge is transmitted and centering African scholarship in contemporary art discourse.
