Fashion Designer, Creative Director, and Visual Artist

The Work I Focus On: I am a fashion designer, creative director, and visual artist who has built a luxury fashion house, Gadat House, as a platform for multidisciplinary visual storytelling. My work challenges the idea that luxury can only originate from the West, while centering local stories through the lens of high fashion. Through fashion, film, and the intersection of dance and music, I focus on empowerment, skills development, and expansive storytelling within the fashion industry.

Why pushing culture forward through your practice matters to you: Pushing culture forward through my practice matters to me because culture shapes how we see ourselves, our stories, and our possibilities. Through fashion and visual storytelling, I challenge inherited narratives, particularly the idea that luxury, innovation, and authority only come from the West. By centering Black women’s leadership and multidisciplinary collaboration, my work creates space for new voices, new aesthetics, and new ways of working.

For me, cultural progress is not just about representation, but about empowerment and skill-building within creative industries. By intersecting fashion with film, dance, and music, I aim to build a living, evolving cultural ecosystem that reflects where we come from and where we are going.
