Siyabonga Mtshali artistically known as Siyababa is a multidisciplinary storyteller hailing from the coast KwaZulu-Natal South Africa. Mtshali is now based in Johannesburg where he pioneers contemporary African Avant-Garde by marrying the two idea of art and fashion. Creating new narratives which reforms runway shows into performance pieces. 

Growing up Queer in a hyper masculine Zulu community I grew up having a distorted narrative of what being African and Queer looked like because of the limited representation set on media during the time which was widely curated by western ideas.
