I am an Art Director, Cultural Entrepreneur and Events Producer, operating at the intersection of music, design and community. My creative discipline is rooted in narrative thinking which entails shaping experiences, visuals and conversations that feel intentional and reflective of the moment we live in. I’m less interested in spectacle for its own sake and more invested in meaning and memory. I AM AN ARCHIVIST AT HEART.
My work focuses on creating platforms and spaces where culture can be experienced slowly and honestly. Through projects like NarowBi, Soundcheck and Kids Love Jazz, I design environments that foreground jazz, poetry and alternative sounds within contemporary youth culture. This includes art direction, programming, copy and spatial thinking - from how a poster reads to how a room feels when the music begins. Much of my practice is about reframing: challenging who jazz is “for” what youth culture can look like and how intimacy can exist within nightlife and events.
Pushing culture forward matters to me because culture shapes how people see themselves and each other. Growing up, I rarely saw spaces that reflected my curiosity, softness or love for slower forms of expression. My work is a response to that absence. By building platforms that value listening, care and community, I aim to expand what is possible in South Africa’s creative landscape - not by chasing trends, but by creating room for depth, experimentation and future voices to emerge.
