I am a multi-disciplinary storyteller and creative producer with a career that stretches across

film, media, music and cultural organizing. Stories have always been a haven for me to explore

my understanding of the world as well as to express myself in it. A great deal of my work centres

around capturing the range and complexity of African creativity as I see it; in all of its joy, grief,

depth and potential. As a young filmmaker, I have successfully written and directed films &

TV-length series that have been broadcast for television on Multichoice and picked up on

streaming juggernauts like Showmax & Amazon Prime.

These experiences informed a drive that expanded my focus past the production of stories to

include building spaces that centre around contemporary African creativity and nurturing

eco-systems that can better support how our stories are engaged with. This drive can be seen

through cultural initiatives I have created and launched as a co-founder of Enraptured Odyssey

& BAI Foundation. The projects range from podcasts and publications like All That Yazz,

Afriquan Film & Next Gen Greats to festivals, events and youth-centred programs like

HEATSKRS Fest, HEATSKRS CON & HEATSKRS Development.

We’ve barely scratched the surface of the stories we can tell and part of my personal mission is

to provoke a desire to dig deeper and dream wider about what African work can do. Doing this

means pushing culture forward with projects that are vested in youth empowerment,

capacity-building and infrastructural development that can further embolden the work happening

within the contemporary African creative landscape. Stories and artistic craft are more than just

a passion for me, it’s the air that I breathe as a filmmaker, artist, curator and documentarian.
